All About the Downtown Poetry Slam
Founded in 2007, the DTPS is an exciting, bi-weekly poetry event focused on the art of performance poetry.

This show happens on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month, except holidays. Join the free email list, or the free Forums to be updated on changes in schedule.
Start time is 8PM.
There is a $5 cover.

About The Poetry Slam
- Anyone, regardless of experience, is encouraged to come and read.
- Each poem should be original work.
- You should have 3 poems ready to read, one poem in each of three rotations, or rounds.
- No props, costumes or nudity (g'heh).
- Each performance has a 3 minute time limit.
- 5 judges are chosen and score each performance (1 to 10), with the lowest and highest score for each performance being dropped.
The Winner Gets Cash
The winner receives a percentage of the door receipts taken in for the night.
Featured Performers
Sometimes we have featured poets come and perform during the slam. On those nights, we will (typically) shorten the slam to two rounds. We may also increase the entry fee on those nights, you should check the Anthology Forums or subscribe to The Anthology Fanzine email list to receive notice of these changes.
Poets interested in featuring are welcome to contact the host of the event, Jeremiah Blue by email to check for availability. Payment is advised in advance.
