Max Kessler features at Mesa Poetry Slam June 17th
The Mesa Poetry Slam is proud to present Max Kessler on Thursday, June 17th.
Maxwell R. Kessler was born and raised in the Wood River Valley. He began writing poetry when he joined the heavy metal band Bedlam in 10th grade at Wood River High. Though he has since taken a sabbatical, he hopes to one day unite his poetic prowess with the his metal brutality to conquer the world.
Max has recently graduated from Emerson College in Boston with a B.A. in Writing for Film and Television. He has been a member of two Emerson College Poetry Slam Teams and participated in the 2008 and 2009 Collegiate Nationals where they placed in the top five. Also he has been a member of the 2009 Cantab Team in Cambridge, and a Champion of Champions at the Boston Poetry Slam. He has performed across the New England area, and just recently completed a tour of the West Coast. He helped found and run the Emerson Poetry Project, a weekly poetry reading at Emerson College, was President of the Screenwriter's Club and was chosen as "Emersonian of the Year".
The Mesa Poetry Slam, since 1994, has brought spoken word to the greater Phoenix area every Thursday. Hosted by The Klute, you can enjoy award winning pizza from Queen's Pizzeria in their newly refurbished seating area that can hold a whole bunch of you poetry lovin' fools.A two round poetry slam surrounds Max's feature.
