Anthology Mesa Slam Treetop Qualifier 3/5/09
--------------------------------------------------------------
Here is an update about qualifying for the upcming Treetop Regional Poetry Slam and the National Poetry Slam this coming August as a member of the Mesa national Slam Team.
Treetop (Saturday, March 7th, Flagstaff, AZ)
Mesa will choose a team of four poets to compete in that event. Invitations for the team will be presented based on the order of finish in the slam held Thursday, March 5th, 2009. Per PSI requirements, all members of the team must be PSI members to compete in the Treetop event.
IF Anthology earns sufficient donations from the event, we MAY be able to offer the registration fee of $20 as a prize for those that do not have membership at the time of the slam. This means, that you should encorage friends, family and others to attend the event, and donate their $5 door.
If you would prefer to purchase your own membership, you my do so here.
To be eligable to compete, and represent Mesa at the event:
We ask that you have attended one APS/AOM event prior to March 5th.
Important: This process does not select the Mesa Slam Team, and you must meet all other eligability requirements set forth by Treetop Organizers, or Poetry Slam, inc.

2009 NPS Fundraising
---------------------------------------------
Right from the Home Page: http://www.anthology.org
Our goal for this campaign is to:
* raise $1,000 to pay the registration fee (est $450) for the 2009 National Poetry Slam, to be held in West Palm Beach, FL August 3rg-8th.
* Pay for 5 Poetry Slam, Inc. Memberships at $20 apiece.
* Provide offset costs for travel and hotel for team members.
In 2009, the National Poetry Slam will be in West Palm Beach, FLA. As usual, we will be sending a team of four poets and one alternate to the event, but we need your help. Every dollar you contribute will allow us to offset the incredible costs associated with this event.
Why it's important
Mesa has a long and vibrant history for poetry in the arts. For the last 15 years, Anthology has been the consistent, driving force behind establishing Mesa as a tremendous place for poetry to be heard and performed. That reputation comes with an investment from you, our community, to make sure that we can always send tremendous and talented poets to perform nationally. They represent you, the good people of Mesa. And, with your small gift, you can ensure that that tradition continues.
