Q. I would like to form a team of poets for the Copper State Poetry Slam Championships. What do I need to do?

A. The answer is simple. first off, find three people to be on your team with you. Those people should be from AZ (hence the AZ Championships). Once you have found them, register them here. Each of your team members should have 2-3 poems ready to go for the competition. Only 4 additional teams (beyond the 4 teams going to the National Poetry Slam) will be accepted.

Q. To Register a Team, what is the fee?

A. Teams are not being charged a fee to enter.

Q. Do I have to be on a team to read in the open mics or other events?

A. No, if you are not on a team, you do need to buy a ticket for the event, but you may participate in any of the 'Side' events.

Q. As a team member, how many poems should I have ready?

A. At the absolute minimum, two. The competition Friday will be two bouts with each bout having 4 teams. Each bout will consist of 4 rounds, or rotations, and each team may have a poet (or multiple poets) perform in each rotation.

Q. What are the rules we should follow?

A. Standard PSI tournament rules apply.

Q. I would like to participate in the Youth Showcase, how do I register?

A. There is no formal registration, you should be at the venue at the time on the event to read.

Q. Is this an over 21 show?

A. Preliminary bouts, day events and Finals are all ages. Alcohol will be served at these events, and ID's will be strictly enforced. After hours programming will be for 18+ only.

Q. I am a member fo the Press, Whom should I contact about Access?

A. For event access, Ken Ferguson, ken at black box az dot com. For interview access, Bob Nelson, bob at anthology dot org.
