It's an Arizona Tradition The Mesa Poetry Slam Some of the most recognizable names in Poetry Slam: Eirean Bradley, Nick Fox, Bill Campana, Corbet Dean, Akua all started in Mesa. Since 1994 it is one of the oldest slams in the country, and now you can be a part of it! When: The Saturday following Mesa's Second Friday community event. 8PM Where: Queen's Pizzeria, 125 W Main St, Mesa What is it? Poetry Slam is a competative poetry event, where the poets read their poems and are judges by the audience. Performances are scored, Olympic style, and everyone gets to hoot and holler until a winner is crowned at the end of the night. Tickets: Tickets are $5 Online HERE Each shows sells ONLY 50 tickets (to accomidate room capacity). Tickets at the door, if not sold out, are $8. |
