Anthology.org is sponsoring this great writing contest as part of the 2022 Mesa Book Festival. The Contest is open to any students grades 9-12 in the greater Phoenix area with a submission due date of November 1, 2022. Public, charter and home schooled students are welcome to enter.

  • Students may enter either or both categories. Using the form below, submit ONE ENTRY at a time.
  • Contest entries should be submitted through the Anthology.org website, with the winners announced at the 2022 Mesa Book Festival

  • Winning entries will be published at Anthology.org. 

IMPORTANT: 

  • Include your name and email address in your PDF file. You are welcome to include your phone number if you so choose (or you just are not into email).
  • Name your pdf file with your name followed by the category ("Essay" or "Fiction"). That way staff can make sure your entry is sorted correctly.

Two Categories

Category One: Essay: What is your favorite Book and why?

  • Prize: $100
  • Max 1,000 words
  • Includes brief summary
  • What are the themes of the book?
  • What about the book made it your favorite
  • All entries must be submitted as a PDF file.
  • Deadline: November 1, 2022

Category Two: Micro Fiction Contest

  • Prize $100
  • Max 500 words
  • No previously published work may be submitted.
  • Work must be original. Any borrowed ideas or language must be appropriately acknowledged.
  • All entries must be submitted as a PDF file.
  • Deadline: November 1, 2022
