Independent authors, small publishers, and literary organizations abound in this list. Make sure you note your favorites and make plans to visit them on the day of the event.

Aguirre, Benny Grijalva
I am a local author involved in re-enactment clubs as a pirate; found and bought a plush pirate parrot, named him Pegleg Willie. People interactive with him so got him a crew and that where the stories started and became these books. Enjoy their adventures.

Amanda Nelson & Lisa-Marie Potter
Amanda and Lisa-Marie are a co-writing team of best friends who share imaginary worlds, including a short story, Shivers, published in Moments Between. Lisa Marie Potter (BIPOC) is a mom of four who grew up in Nottingham, England, and now resides in Alaska with her husband and golden retriever. Amanda Nelson grew up in Maryland and moved to Arizona, where she attended college and currently lives with her husband and four kids.

Apocalypse Later Press
Hal C. F. Astell is a critic, author, publisher and film festival director who runs the Apocalypse Later Empire in Phoenix, AZ. He has nine books in print through Apocalypse Later Press amd the monthly Apocalypse Later Zine. Apocalypse Later Reviews celebrated its fifteenth anniversary in 2022. The Apocalypse Later International Fantastic Film Festival (ALIFFF) is in its sixth year and the Apocalypse Later Roadshow visits conventions across the southwest. More at apocalypselaterempire.com.

The Arizona State Poetry Society (ASPS) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, educational and literary organization dedicated to the art of poetry and to the appreciation, writing, reading, and speaking of poetry. Blair, Billy & Hunt, Haley
As a full-time Institute Teacher for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Billy Jo Blair writes children's books in his spare time based off real life experiences with his six children. Haley Hunt, an aspiring illustrator attends Mesa Community College, and has worked alongside Billy for the past four years to help bring his writing to life.

Born, raised and still residing in Arizona, the author continues to pen stories in all genres despite the distraction of house cats underfoot and the occasional bobcat or roadrunner strolling through the backyard.

C.K. Donnelly
As a kid, C.K. DONNELLY wrote stories under the covers with a flashlight. The award-winning journalist and self-described “unsuccessful quitter” released her first novel in 2020. Since then, she has published two sequels, earning 18 literary awards for the fantasy series, and teaches several writing workshops. Donnelly, a sought-after workshop instructor and moderator, resides in Arizona with her husband and little black dog, and no longer writes under the covers by flashlight. Usually.

Chronin, Tam
Tam Chronin is a figment of the imagination, which might be why she lives there often enough to find her main characters and convince them to share their stories. Before becoming an author, she slayed trolls for many years in the wilds of the internet. It was a relief to retire from such harrowing adventures, but for a coin and a stiff drink she might recount them over a campfire. She lives in Phoenix, AZ, with her family and pets, including a vicious attack tortoise who guards the back yard.

Dickinson, Daniel
Daniel Dickinsons’ writing first appeared in an annual publication with his short story “Escape from Ogre Island.” He has self-published two other stories “Gathering Tide”, "Aggression Factor" and the newly released "Ember of War." He is a frequent contributor to the Arizona Author Association's quarterly newsletter.
