Kathie McMahon is the author of the humorous, award-winning chapter book series, Mortimer and Me, about eight-year-old Jimmy and a moose named Mortimer. Kathie taught elementary school for 32 years, where she composed several school musicals. She also collaborated on many youth theater musicals, receiving four ariZoni awards for Original Music Composition. She is a member of SCBWI and hosts the East Valley KidLit Mingles. Kathie lives in Gilbert, Arizona.

Melanie Deer writes primarily epic fantasy that harkens back to the original roots of the epic fantasy genre. Her stories have twists, action, and a strong desire of hope. She has lived in the world of Eylaour for decades and is so glad you are wanting to join her there. When spending time in our realm, she works at an archaeological repository during the day and enjoys time with her son, loving husband, and (way too many) cats outside of that in the Arizona desert.
