Panel Nominations Are Open for the 2027 Sonoran Writers Conference

The Sonoran Writers Conference is now accepting panel nominations for 2027!

Writers, editors, publishers, educators, literary professionals, and members of Arizona's writing community are invited to help shape the next Sonoran Writers Conference by proposing panels, presentations, workshops, and conversations that will inform, inspire, and connect our community.

Whether you have an idea for a practical session on the craft of writing, a conversation about publishing and the business of being an author, or a panel exploring the changing literary landscape, we want to hear from you.

What Are We Looking For?

Panel nominations may address a wide range of subjects relevant to writers and the literary community, including:

• Writing craft and technique

• Fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and other literary forms

• Editing and revision

• Traditional, independent, and hybrid publishing

• Book marketing and author promotion

• Building and sustaining an author career

• Literary communities and organizations

• Libraries, bookstores, and reader engagement

• Technology and the future of writing and publishing

• Genre-specific discussions

• Workshops and hands-on educational sessions

• Other topics that would provide meaningful value to writers

We welcome proposals for both established topics and new ideas that reflect the questions, opportunities, and challenges writers are encountering today.

Who Can Submit a Nomination?

You don't need to be a previous Sonoran Writers Conference presenter to submit an idea.

Authors, publishers, editors, educators, booksellers, librarians, literary organizations, writing groups, and other members of the writing and publishing community are encouraged to participate.

You may nominate a panel or session that you would like to participate in yourself, or suggest a topic that you believe should be represented at the conference.

Submitting an idea does not guarantee its inclusion in the final conference program. The Sonoran Writers Conference team will review nominations as the 2027 program is developed, looking at subject matter, audience interest, available space, presenter availability, and the overall balance of the conference.

The Sonoran Writers Conference is built around bringing writers together to learn from one another, exchange ideas, and strengthen Arizona's literary community.

Panel nominations give that community a direct role in determining the conversations we have at the conference.
